Professor Tyler Doyon
Credentials: Chemistry Professor, UW-Eau Claire
Position title: Postdoc (2021-2022)
Tyler grew up in the great state of Michigan in a small town called Birch Run. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan-Flint, where he received his B.S. in Honors Biochemistry in 2015. At UM-Flint, he performed inorganic chemistry research under Prof. Nicholas Kingsley, synthesizing aryl-imine aluminum complexes as pre-catalysts for hydroamination. After starting his graduate career at the University of Michigan, he joined the lab of Prof. Alison Narayan in 2016. In the Narayan group, Tyler developed non-heme iron biocatalysts for the chemoenzymatic synthesis of complex molecules and natural products. After graduating with his Ph.D. in Chemical Biology in 2020, Tyler joined the Buller group as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate. Outside of his scientific interests, Tyler enjoys fishing and being outdoors.
