Tong Gao

Tong grew up in Nanjing, China. She attended undergrad at Williams College in Williamstown, MA, where she was a chemistry and math major. Her undergraduate research focused on mechanistic evaluation of nucleophilic aromatic substitution between triazole and aryl halides. She is interested in thinking about mechanism in the context of biocatalysis. Outside of lab, she enjoying spending time outside and volunteering at shelters.
