Dr. Tony Meza
Credentials: Ph.D. in Biochemistry
Position title: (2018-2023)
Tony grew up in the mountains of Northern Arizona before moving to the desert to attend Arizona State University where he completed his BS in medicinal biochemistry and master’s degree in nanoscience. Having grown up in the mountains, Tony experienced plenty of snow but does admit that it is quite a bit colder in Wisconsin. During his time at ASU, Tony studied the incorporation of metal chelating non-canonical amino acids through amber codon suppression in Jeremy Mill’s Lab. With a curiosity for the power of proteins and a love for working at the bench, Tony chose to continue his graduate education and joined the Integrated Program in Biochemistry at UW-Madison. Outside of the lab, Tony enjoys cooking, sports, and spending time outdoors.
